Analysis of Week 9 Steelers/Ravens' broadcast.

The game is not even over yet but I though I'd get a quick post out on the broadcast. I know the game was not that good. The Steelers got out to a quick lead and the Ravens never did anything to get back in the game. But even though the game wasn't great (unless, or course, you are a Steelers fan) the broadcast was especially terrible. I have a list of Tony's useless comments that I am not going to post right now but they are brutal. I am just too saddened by the broadcast to say anything about it. But some other low-lights are were all the sideline interviews going on with Steeler greats DURING THE GAME! Ever heard of half-time? Anyway needless to say:

Week 9 Grade: F

I discovered this site while googling "ESPN sucks". I am so sick of these a$$clowns messing up a good football game with pointless interviews, sideline reporters feeding us useless info during the game, and HORRIBLE commentary. Kornheiser brings nothing to the table except prescripted, unfunny "quips".

These guys need to take a serious look at how CBS and FOX do football. It's about the GAME, not your overhyped, overproduced "event".

ESPN is quickly losing credibility in all of its programming.

I just discovered this blog tonight as I was googling "ESPN sucks". I was pissed off at the way ESPN kept having these "interviews" during the game. It's so annoying to see a network slaughter a football game week after week. They hype these Monday night games up like they're the mini Super Bowl, then talk about everything but the game during the broadcast.

They need to take a serious look at how Fox and CBS run a broadcast. It's about the GAME, not "in-booth interviews", and certainly not about that joke of a halftime show with Chris "am I still a relevant broadcaster" Berman. And "PTI at the half" is just unwatchable. I can't stand Kornheiser and his smug ass goofy comments.

ESPN screws up everything because of overproduction. Let the sports be the excitement, not your overhyped, loud-mouthed analysts.

Thank you for this blog. I will be checking in on a regular basis.

BTW, I watch the NFL Network regularly, and recommend it to anyone who loves football and hates ESPN.

I have said all season that the schedule makers have not done ESPN any favors with the match-ups this year. That being said, ESPN has taken mediocre football games and made them hideous. The NFL front office really needs to know that true football fans are disgusted by what for years has been the "flagship" NFL broadcast. Maybe at the next TV contract negotiation the NFL Network can take it over. As much as I can't stand Bryant Gumbel he and Cris Collinsworth are a much better team than ESPN's three nitwits.

Kornheiser, though good in "PTI", is a horrible choice for the MNF booth: no insights, not funny, suffers from diarrhea of the mouth to the point of nauseating the audience. Get rid of him and leave two in the booth--that's enough for any broadcast!

I think the NFL schedule would be very hard to do because there is so much parity and teams that did well last year (Example: Jets & Bengals) suck this year. Still last night was a prime example of how very bad it can be.

I can't believe that they talked right through the National Anthem. Steve Young and Emmit Smith were asked a question from the booth, when they went to them on the sidelines, they were singing the National Anthem and everyone was standing besides the hosts. I was pretty disapointed that I never heard anything about it.
